The sparkling brown matrix on this specimen provides a dramatic, high contrast backdrop for a host of tapered pyromorphite crystals, almost all of which have pseudomorphed to plumbogummite.

The sparkling brown matrix on this specimen provides a dramatic, high contrast backdrop for a host of tapered pyromorphite crystals, almost all of which have pseudomorphed to plumbogummite. Some are fully converted, while others show partial or no change (these are colored the usual light green for pyromorphite. This is an exciting new find from China. The largest crystals are 11 mm.
